1. INTRODUCTION OF DIRECTOR: CLAUDIO P. CRIMI

1.1 The demographic data show that 'immigration in Italy, as in Europe, is a structural phenomenon and unstoppable. The Italians do not regret having a good number of foreigners to be entrusted with the work that they do not do more. In particular the situation of family carers or assistants will be increasingly important as new families have children needed to assist elderly parents or grandparents, then you will need to hire immigrants.

1.2 The economic crisis and wars in the near future situations of hunger and thirst due to climate change, will force millions to flee in every way, often without control, their countries. Crime has increased in proportion to the poverty and the rich are increasingly reluctant to accept the need to share your bread with the poor and especially with foreigners.

1.3 The main difficulty that we are not yet prepared to receive not only foreigners but carry with them the coexistence and integration. Ancient Rome, a melting pot of peoples, was successful in many respects, this goal. modern Europe it is still far away. The ACSE is to be especially useful in this type of work. This report should help us analyze our operations to see if we can overcome the paternalistic attitude and go to a speech of true coexistence and integration being able to understand and take more and more.

1.4 The word evangelical is a reliable guide to the establishment of the project for which our association was founded: To help immigrants and refugees find welcome and brotherhood.

1.5 In a general reflection on immigrants we should remember 'cos it happened in Italy after the introduction of the "DDL security" that has brought our country to violate the human rights of immigrants, which the Italian government has been condemned by the United Nations Convention on Human Rights as well as by religious forces, especially in the case of rejection. The church, and organizations working in the industry are unanimous in condemning this devolution legislation and this violation of human rights of migrants. We can not accept the criminalization of those who do not have permission to stay, because we can never accept that from one day to millions of people are declared criminals just because they can not obtain a document that the government has made, on purpose, very difficult to obtain.
We need to think to decide, together with the Church and with the forces in favor of immigrants, the measures to be undertaken in future.

1.6 The ACSE is and 'was basically a shopping service provider, without taking too conspicuous positions of opposition against the new and unfair law. In fact we tried to introduce the issue of immigrants in schools, inviting students to visit and speak in churches on Sundays.
We have tried to increase cooperation with the Diocesan Pastoral Care of Migrants and other groups working in the industry as Astalli Center, CESV, CIR, CARITAS, Sant. Egidio and other ethnic groups.

1.7 While the different ethnic groups come together almost always by nationality or language, The ACSE has tried to open the doors to everyone, whatever nationality they are instigating the integration because: "If we, who are few, although many different nationalities, we can not win the division and we can not live together as brothers, how can we expect people in the world able to live in building peace? "
With freedom we have asked all the ACS to form a fraternal community, despite their differences. We met up with this spirit, the last Sunday of each month in a "live with." The experience of the "CONV" is positive and is done for two years now, but certainly not an easy thing. Sustained by the testimony of many who participated and expressed their satisfaction and their encouragement for this type of meeting.

2 PURPOSE 'AND SPIRIT OF THE ASSOCIATION

For years we know the ACSE and the spirit that animates it, but in particular certain points should be underlined.

2.1 The ACSE is born from the inspiration of the activities of the Comboni Missionary, P. Renato Bresciani, who expelled from Sudan in 1964 and since 1969 he had devoted himself to accept refugees, particularly students, who arrived from southern Sudan.

2.2L 'ACSE is also committed to raising awareness among citizens and institutions with regard to issues relating to the status of refugee and immigrant as well as relating to all forms of social exclusion.

2.3L 'Association seeks to promote mutual understanding of values, history and culture of different peoples with respect for cultural differences, social and religious.

2.4 More than ever you need an attitude of respect and service for immigrants, especially after all the controversy stirred up by the immigration laws and the "draft law on security." The difficulties for the centers that work with immigrants have increased, but we must remain faithful to the fundamental principles of the Gospel and human rights and behave accordingly.

3. OVERVIEW OF THE ASSOCIATION FOR THE YEAR 2009

3.1 Who we are done?:

The ACSE is a service center for immigrants arrived in Italy in past 5 years. Each service is virtually autonomous. This on the one hand facilitate the activities of the ACS, because whatever happens, the services can still continue working. But the volunteers are likely to be very independent, and can lose track of things and especially the spirit.
short, the ACSE is an organism, which has several sections, some even physically separate from headquarters, working hard, but whose volunteers do not know.

.
Volunteers who come in contact with immigrants have the opportunity to show their sympathy, attention and interest, but must also feel eager to get climbing companions who work in the association and have, like us, faith, enthusiasm and desire to do good, teach us how dellACSE objectives.

3.2 WHAT DO WE DO?

Our center in 2009 has seen 650 more foreigners, more than 5 years earlier according to the possibilities of our services. We must recognize that some aspects of activities adds to the ACSE because there is still a sense of real unity among the volunteers. The technique and science without moral values, without faith, without feelings, ideals and feelings, are not sufficient to build the well.

We must get out of this situation because in Rome there are other forces that affect immigrants: Caritas, the Centre Astalli, the Community of Sant 'Egidio, 300 parishes and other community centers and government lay.
What we have to shine? If, together, they all work the same spirit, volunteers and immigrants, then our presence is really something special.

: It
1) The reality is that we are a small media center that we see in many hundreds of migrants new year, more than the years before, and we are not more than 80 volunteers.

4.3. The concerns of the ACS in 2009 are was to improve services in general and of the Italian school in particular, and to provide opportunities for immigrants who have skills and the ability to create courses to learn a job, so you have a source of revenue that can be avoided them to be done "beggars"

4.4 Every first Saturday of the Mass is a training session on gospel values. On Wednesday
continued training sessions with the students of the Italian school.
At Friday's meeting began on the Italian Constitution and on the 'integration. By necessity, the time spent is not enough, but it was a very useful initiative. On the subject of immigration, students of Italian said: "ACS I felt at home ... thank the ideas proposed by resposnsabili very well ... .. on peace, culture, moral values, on the Italian constitution. ".

4.5 The service internet works in our office with the Internet we started to send "the ACSE on line" to all the friends and benefactors to continue the service held on "TAM TAM" paper. The Tam Tam paper, as promised, came out twice to
'year. 'The ACSE online "can come out every month without new expenditures.

4.5 Within the ACS was created a multicultural group who have been invited to attend all immigrants, volunteers and partners who so wish.
last Sunday of every month are organized meetings of living and education for immigrants and volunteers. They have given good results in terms of coexistence, integration and training. The meetings are a time of prayer for believers in the morning and after lunch in town, a period of lively cultural documentaries using sharing, study groups and witnesses lived. Who participated in it is happy
E 'an initiative to continue because dispels prejudices of all kinds, creates the necessary sympathy among the participants and the sharing of basic values.

4.6 has been made two training sessions to members and volunteers and meetings for the sector, in particular the hospitality sector, therefore it is best for the future are emerging to service other meetings. They are also highly useful meetings of leaders of industry to better organize and motivate staff. At these meetings there will always be present even the service vice chiefs.

4.8 To date we have found that are also up for welcoming volunteers. Assistance to immigrants take advantage of it in quality and in quantity. Obviously there are still many things to improve and correct, but it is emerging more style and spirit of our service. It highlights the efforts to create a computer data base for the welcome.

4.9 Finally we continued the catechesis for immigrants. We are prepared families and 13 children have been baptized at Easter 2010.

This is the general framework of the ACS so that we can assess the remarkable commitment that our association with the door in favor of immiigrati. Now follow, presented by the various Heads of Service reports on the activities conducted by ACS.
