O Lord,
You have taught us that love is greater
lay down his life for his friends.
Help us find volunteer work
the opportunity to meet
not only the human suffering, but to live
love.
Open our eyes
to recognize in every poor
your face and your presence.
Open our minds
to highlight the uniqueness of each person,
with its history and culture.
Open our ears
to accept with kindness
voices demanding listen.
Open our hearts
to offer hope where there is fear,
solidarity where there is loneliness,
comfort where there is sadness.
Help us, O Lord, to witness the Gospel
with a smile, a word, a gesture of affection.
Give us the humility to recognize
that we are not light, but
instruments of Your light,
we love
but expressions of your love.
Amen.
